Active Components and Properties of Organosilicon Defoamers
1. Active ingredient: The main ingredient of silicone defoamers is linear polysiloxanes (also known as silicone oil) that can maintain liquids at room temperature as active agents. The main types of polysiloxanes are: polydimethylsiloxane, fluorosiloxane, and ethylene glycol siloxane.
Silicone oil is a non volatile oily liquid at room temperature. Insoluble in water, animal and vegetable oils, and mineral oils, or with low solubility. High temperature and low temperature resistance. The chemical properties are inert, the physical properties are stable, and there is no biological activity.
2. Performance of silicone defoamer: silicone defoamer has three major functions: foam breaking, defoaming, and foam inhibiting.
